Vintage Butterfly Cuff Bracelet | Handmade Copper Wire Jewellery

An old treasure, a new beginning and a butterfly ready to spread its wings. 🦋

This delicate vintage butterfly cuff bracelet combines traditional copper wire weaving with a beautiful repurposed butterfly brooch.

At its centre sits a vintage butterfly decorated with smoky quartz gemstones. Its graceful shape and subtle colours complement the warm copper wire.

Rather than leaving this lovely vintage piece forgotten in a jewellery box, I've given it a new life as part of a handmade cuff.

The result is an elegant bracelet that brings together vintage charm, creativity and traditional craftsmanship.

There's something special about taking an older piece of jewellery and creating something entirely new.

The butterfly at the centre of this cuff began life as a vintage brooch. However, it now forms the main feature of a delicate copper bracelet.

Its smoky quartz gemstones add soft, earthy tones to the design.

Meanwhile, the flowing copper wirework creates a beautiful setting around the butterfly.

By repurposing the brooch, I've kept a lovely vintage piece in use while giving it a fresh purpose.

Unlike my larger statement cuffs, this bracelet has a lighter and more delicate appearance.

I handcrafted the band using copper wire and a mixture of weaving techniques.

Fine copper scrolls and decorative curls surround the butterfly. In addition, the woven sections create texture without overpowering the centrepiece.

The warm copper tones work beautifully with the vintage details and smoky quartz gemstones.

As a result, the finished cuff has a romantic, slightly antique appearance.

Butterflies have long symbolised change, hope and new beginnings.

Their transformation from caterpillar to butterfly makes them a beautiful symbol of growth.
