Dragon Eye Brooch | Handmade Copper Wire Wrapped Dragon Pin

Every dragon has its secrets. This one is keeping a very close eye on yours! 🐉

This striking dragon eye brooch combines fantasy art with detailed copper wire weaving. At its centre sits one of my hand-painted dragon eyes, glowing with rich purple and blue shades.

Around the eye, flowing copper wire creates an ornate dragon design. Intricate wings spread outwards, while curling copper details add movement and character.

I handcrafted the brooch using bare copper wire and several weaving techniques. As a result, every part of the design has its own texture and detail.

Dragons have appeared in myths and legends for centuries. Some guard ancient treasures, while others represent strength, wisdom and power.

This handmade dragon brooch takes inspiration from those legendary creatures.

The hand-painted eye features beautiful shades of violet, purple and electric blue. Its dark vertical pupil creates a bold contrast against the bright colours.

Meanwhile, the detailed copper setting frames the eye without hiding its beauty.

As the light changes, the colours within the eye reveal different shades. Therefore, this little dragon seems to have a personality all of its own.

This dragon eye brooch features a mix of traditional wire weaving and free-flowing chaos weave.

The wings contain tiny copper curls and delicate patterns. In addition, several different weaves surround the central eye.

Long copper scrolls flow from the bottom, giving the design a graceful finish.

I used bare copper wire throughout the piece. After completing the design, I antiqued the copper to darken the recessed areas.

I then polished the raised details to restore their warm copper shine.

This process highlights the fine wirework and gives the brooch an aged, almost ancient appearance.
